Neiru Aonuma (青沼 ねいる, Aonuma Neiru?) is one of the main characters in Wonder Egg Priority. She is a reserved and quiet girl who does not talk much and does not actively engage with other people.
Appearance[]
Neiru is a tan-skinned girl with emerald green eyes. She has dark brown hair that she keeps pulled to one side in a short braid. She has a set of pins as well as a light grey bow in her hair. After a while, Neiru changes her hairstyle: a small dark gray ribbon on both sides of her head with her wavy hair down.[3] She has a large scar going down the center of her back due to her sister stabbing her.
Neiru wears a long-sleeved gray dress with a white collar, white cuffs, and a dark blue bow in the middle. She also wears white socks and brown loafers.

Personality[]
Neiru is calm and quiet, often not actively engaging with others until they’ve gained her trust or her friendship. She is a hardworking, motivated, and diligent person, and is the president of a large company despite still being a child.[4] She is first introduced when she purchases a large number of Wonder Eggs and pushes herself to the brink of death trying to save all of them.
Background[]
Neiru had a little sister. Her younger sister stabbed Neiru in the back and then jumped off a bridge, killing herself. The reason is currently unknown. Neiru states that she learned this when she woke up in the ICU after the stabbing. Her scar aches constantly, especially when she attempts to forget about her sister, and the only thing that helps stop the psychosomatic pain is by helping the people who come out of Wonder Eggs.[5] She soon becomes friends with Ai Ohto after meeting her, the two girls get along pretty well. Shortly afterwards, Neiru then meet the other protagonists and befriends them all despite her initial disapproval of Rika.
It is later precised that Neiru, along with her deceased friend and Wonder Egg Girl Kotobuki Awano, had been born from artificial procreation in a laboratory. Her parents have been chosen for their genes, in order for the corporation called Japan Plati to create an individual with a rare and unique genetic makeup, granted with very high intelligence and other capacities and particularities. The two girls never knew their parents. In fact, in the special episode, Neiru is revealed to be an AI made from her sister's personnality as a base, by Kotobuki, who worked in Japan Plati as a scientist and a doctor. Neiru is actually its director, helped by Misaki Tanabe.

Weapon: Neiru wields a compass (drawing tool), which can transform into a sniper rifle, a greatsword, or an assault rifle when used. Neiru can easily control the transformation of the compass.
Pomander: Neiru wields a pomander. When hatched, a creature resembling a snake emerges from it. She named it Pinky.[6]
Etymology[]
- The name Neiru is rendered in hiragana (ね = ne,い = i and る = ru). Written in this way, it is an alternate form of the verb to fall asleep (usually written 寝入る with ね and い acting as furigana and る to make it a verb.)
- Neiru's surname Aonuma means "blue, green" (青) (ao) and "swamp, pond, bog, lake" (沼) (numa).
