Azusa Hoshina (保科 あずさ, Hoshina Azusa?) is a character in Wonder Egg Priority. She was the wife of Acca and the mother of Himari.
Appearance[]
Azusa had short pixie cut dark-brown hair that has short bangs hanging over her forehead and dark-blue eyes.
In Episode 11, Himari mentions that she looks a lot like Azusa.
Personality[]
When first meeting her, Ura-Acca described Azusa as seeming like a good person, also saying that she had a sense of humor. She was a calm and kind woman.
Background[]
Azusa worked in Japan Plati, as well as Acca and Ura-Acca, both of them being researchers. During a party organised by the corporation, she met them and told the Accas that she admired their work. Ura-Acca and Acca both fell for her, but only Acca had the opportunity to be with her. Acca fell in love with her and Azusa had a strong relationship with him. She lived with him, Ura-Acca and Frill - the AI the two researchers created. Acca and Azusa got married, and soon after, she became pregnant. Frill, being programmed to emulate humans' emotions and feelings - both good and bad ones - became jealous of her, and her unborn child, disliking how this took the attention away from herself. Frill murdered Azusa by throwing a hairdryer into the bathtub which electrocuted her. While Azusa was killed, her child survived and she was raised by Acca and Ura-Acca, who named her Himari.
Etymology[]
- Her given name Azusa is rendered in hiragana (あ = a, ず = zu, さ = sa) and is a synonym for 夜糞峰榛 (yoguso minebari), the Japanese cherry birch and 木豇豆 (kisasage), the yellow catalpa.
- Her surname Hoshina means "protect/protection, maintain, guarantee" (保) (ho) and "family, department, section" (科) (shina)
